I am told it is fairly comon here in the spring...I found alot in the spot this one was located...

We've got alot of fungus that grow here so may be a few of them too?

I know when I was forwarded a link about them it said they like to grow on dead hardwood so that is a place to start looking...I found these on a dead elm tree...hope that helps some

We have some white fungus like that but too many lookalikes for novice like me. We harvest hen of the woods or hen and chicken, few puffballs, morels and Im learning the oyster roons from a trusted source and will be harvesting them on my own. For this area those are the safest. Mistakes can be deadly with some roons.
