Yes I like lever actions!!! I used to to 170 grain Core-Lokt bullets in my 30-30. I had to go looking for deer. Good blood trails but they went a ways. I tried 150 Winchester Super X ammo. What a difference. They dont go far at all!! Last one the 30-30 got was my ex's son.. I went 30 yards if that... Just my 2 cents!! ;D

I collect lever actions and single shots. Another way to improve .30-30 performance is to load pointed/modern bullets. Danger has always been with the chance of a chain fire in the magazine. If you load one in the chamber and one in the magazine that problem is solved with alot better accuracy and down range performance(most critters are taken with 2 shots or less). We set up a buddys that way for yotes/varmints and scoped it out and its a bonafide 300 yard yote gun now. Better long range guns out there but if a ole .30-30 is all you got theres things you can do to zip it up. The polymer/soft tipped Leverevolution ammo is popular but Ive heard mixed reviews and its not cheap at all.
