I got offered a decent stainless AR-7 .22 for $80 missing a magazine. Magazine in silver is $20 around here. We had several older ones years ago but the new ones seem to be a little lighter? Finish etc is ok for a user gun. Ive just about decided to pass on it unless someone has a good reason not to?

Is the gun in good shape other then missing the magazine? Ask if you can go out ans pull the trigger a few time to help with making up your mind. If it handles ok, I would say go for it $80 isnt to bad at all. Mind yo uit isnt a Marlin Mod 60 but It just needs to shoot well. Buy it, I would.

I passed on it at first. He called back Monday and I bought it for $70. I took it out yesterdayafter getting a magazine and it functions great but it isnt a tack driver at all. I'm doubtful it is good enough for squirrels. Any tips on anything to squeaze a little more accuracy out of one of these? I tried about 5 different types/brands of .22 catridge's. It for sure is picky, only round nose solids functioned good. Hollow points and the cone shaped ones stove piped almost everytime. Seemed the cheaper the .22 cartridge the more it liked it but at 20 yards it barely was able to keep all the shots in 3". Barrel looked good with no crud. They make a scope mount but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a rifle that stores in the stock. Thanks

I have my grandpa's old single shot botl action Remington, it like the slower .22 loads. I would say buy a mess of the Make with withc is di dthe best with. Play with it alot, you might have to tweak the iron sights slowly to get what you want out of it. It might never be a tack driver, but I am sure it will be fun to pull the trigger on.

Its got a fixed back peep Minnesota. Got offered $85 today for it and it may take a walk. For $85 plus a little I can get another new Mossberg .22 or Savage at the mart stores and Ive got a few of them already and they are good rifles. May just cut my loss's. Ive got $90 in it. Maybe I can talk him into another $5 today and I'll break even.

Its gone! Lesson learned. We wheeled and dealed and I think I did ok. $50 cash(he was short), 7-1.5 Dukes, 1-220 and 3-110 all Dukes and 1 old no.3 Blake and Lamb Jump. The 12 traps ought to be worth $40 . Thanks for the replies and advice. Ive got a whole cabinet of trapline rifle thatshoot a tad better. I like the idea of a floating rifle though for our summer setlining and fall river traplines. He was happy with it too. He likes the plastic guns. Guess I'll look around for one ofthe older AR-7's. They were better built I believe.

I have never been very fond of them plastic guns myself. I think you got a heck of a deal.

For utilty and ease of cleaning etc I like the plastic ones but they certainly dont look as good as wood. The new Mossberg's and Savage's are plastic but awesome shooters. When my oldest was a babe I bought him a Daisy .22 semi auto and its almost entirely plastic but a decent shooter.

I understand that. But I like wood and if the wood is sealed good and right ita not a problem. I guess the biggest think with a 'fake' stock is the cold or humidity dont affect them as much. But wood is pretty.
